Help desk Support Technician

Location: Sacramento, CA
As the Helpdesk Support Tech, you will provide computer support and assist Unitek employees with computer software, hardware or system problems. The position works with a team of MIS staff that ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
The Helpdesk personnel’s essential duties will include but not limited to:
  • Answering technical questions employees may have and resolving problems via telephone, e-mail, or in person.
  • Helping, preparing, and updating all Unitek computers.
  • Cleaning, installing, and modifying operating systems and software programs, such as virus protection and word processing printers.
  • Coordinating with co-workers to determine how request orders will be assigned and/or advising workers to ensure all repairs are properly completed.
  • Preparing recommendations on software or hardware programs and developing user manuals.
Education and Experience:
  • Computer Knowledge.
  • Must be able to problem-solve and have the patience and confidence to repeatedly instruct people on the steps to take to solve computer problems.
  • Interpersonal skills are required.  Must have the ability to listen and ask questions to diagnose and solve computer issues.
  • Strong written/documentation skills are required to write manuals and e-mails.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.
  • Ability to learning new skills.
  • High School Diploma and/or Related discipline in Helpdesk support.
